The Summer Has Come... - Inspire To Journal

About The Summer Has Come...

Previous Entry The Summer Has Come... Jun. 24th, 2005 @ 10:35 am Next Entry
Today's inspire2journal idea was taken from novemberstorms's journal entry, rather than my jar of questions. Enjoy! (EDIT: Originally from thefridayfive, thanks to crystal_tree for pointing that out.)

1. Can you share a tale of a favorite summer cookout/get together?

2. What is a favorite summer ritual of yours?

3. After a long hot summer day, what is your favorite way to quench your thirst?

4. The 4th of July is coming up, what plans, if any, do you have?

5. What are you looking forward to doing most before the summer ends?

My aunt in Wheeling, WVA has a great fourth of July cookout every year. We used to go almost every year when we were kids. It was good times of my grandma, my favorite uncle (who's passed away long ago), and my aunt. Every year there are dogs, burgers, and deviled eggs (I eat a billion). My other aunt and uncle always attend (all my mom's sisters) and it's just a really really nice time. I'm jealous every time I hear that my mom and dad are going, or my sister and bro, and I am not able to go. The last time I went was probably 8 years ago.

2. What is a favorite summer ritual of yours?
No particular ritual...

3. After a long hot summer day, what is your favorite way to quench your thirst?
Cold pink guava juice.

4. The 4th of July is coming up, what plans, if any, do you have?
I think there's a parade in our new home's community. So we'll probably go to that. I'm not sure if they're doing fireworks at the park. If so, we'll probably do that. Otherwise, we'll head out to the Falls Church area and watch their fireworks. It's less hassle than DC's fireworks, and they're pretty nice too.

5. What are you looking forward to doing most before the summer ends?
Maybe going to Toronto, or going to Ohio to visit family....any driving trip will do.

This was actually today's thefridayfive. I don't know if that community would expect to be credited in another community if their questions are used or not.

I know. :) Sometimes I end up putting 'found in a bunch of places' with a meme because I have no clue who to credit. That's probably not good LJ etiquette? But by the time I see things, they've usually been through dozens of LJs.

1. Last summer a couple of friends came round, we got a cheap barbecue and cooked our vegetarian foods on it in the garden, then spent the whole night outside doing each others Tarot Cards and telling really crappy ghost stories lol.

2. Favourite summer ritual........probably sitting in my room after being out in the sun all day, with my windows open, listening to really good heavy metal and song writing. I love that. The other thing is rehearsing with the band in the garage in the summer. It gets absolutly baking hot and I enjoy playing my guitar and singing so much more when its all sweaty and stuff. No idea why lol.

3. A coke with ice.

4. I don't have any, its not celebrated here.

5. More band practisises, more sweatiness, more song writing, and playing our instruments in the garden which is always fun.

Hehe, well I have an Alice in Wonderland fetish. It cannot be healthy.
